"In the beginning was the Word..."

"...and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Merry Christmas!!

I found the above picture through Google search, but here's a funny story: originally I typed in "christmas images", and everything but one picture on the first page of results was of Christmas trees and cartoonish penguins and snowmen. How typical, eh?
However, both my mom and I have noticed that this year, many more people in stores and stuff were saying "Merry Christmas" rather than "Happy Holidays". It was a VERY pleasant switch, believe me. But you probably know yourself from past experience, right?
So did y'all have a good Christmas? Mine was (and is still) terrific! ALL my family was (and again, still is) here, which was a total switch. Usually one or another of my brothers can't make it a certain day, or arrive after another one leaves or something. But this year, my oldest brother arrived early Christmas Eve morning, and two other brothers arrived Christmas Day, in the morning. (Although the times were much different...one came at 3 a.m. and the other came at 11 a.m.) It's been loads of fun. :D And it's really weird having eight people at the table again! I got some really awesome Christmas presents, my favorites being the set of the Anne of Green Gables movies (and the complete set of the books), two $25 Borders gift cards (you can't even imagine how excited I am to splurge with those!!), a piano music book (Ennio Morricone), and 35 pairs of earrings. Yup, 35. ;D I actually just got my ears pierced, so this is really exciting. There are some really cute pairs too, and some really pretty ones. I can't wait to being wearing them all. =D

Anyways, hope you all enjoy the rest of the Christmas season! It lasts awhile, you know. Oh and by the way...our Christmas tree is 13 feet tall. Seriously. It's totally wicked. I mean, we have an Ent in our living room! It's great! :D

May Baby Jesus caress you with His tiny hands, bless you with His newborn smile, and hold you in His open heart.

LOL, girl--I know the "get tons of earrings" feeling, that happened to me the Christmas and birthday after my ears were pierced.
This year, it was a sock year for me--I got seven pairs of fuzzy or otherwise fun socks. Oh yeah, and Justin gave me RAM for my computer so it runs 10 times faster. :0D Do you ever do anything funny with wrapping gifts? I gave Justin a pair of slippers and wrapped them separately. :0)
Glad you had a Merry Christmas! It's always sweet being with family--this year I was blessed to be with both mine and Justin's, and it was so wonderful! :0) I love giving people stuff--it's so worth it, especially to see Justin's two youngest brothers (ages 5 and 8) come running to me for a big hug after opening their gifts. So much fun!...looking forward to next year already, as always! :0)

Yeah, how typical. Trees and little cutesy penguins. :P

Yes, I noticed that as well. It was really nice when people would say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" instead of "HAPPY HOLIDAYS". In fact, my mom said that the manager of Bath & Body works said that. The Manager. *laughs* I just thought that was cool. ;)

AWESOME! Sounds like some GREAT presents. ;) I have the box set of the Anne of Green Gables books (got that last Christmas or the one before). My favorite gifts this year were:
My Camera (from my dad's parents and his sister)
My limited edition box set Circle Series (mom & dad)
My Jane Austen ~ 7 Novels book (from my mom's parents)
My HTML/CSS/XHTML book (from my mom's parents--only 667 pages long! ;)

Love you, and MERRY LATE CHRISTMAS! :)
