Thoughts Both Glad and Gloomy

-----
Currently reading: The Return of the King, by J.R.R. Tolkien
Most recently watched movie: The Scarlet and the Black
Current favorite quote: "...and...to Sam's final and complete satisfaction and pure joy, a minstrel of Gondor stood forth...And behold! he said: '...I will sing to you of Frodo of the Nine Fingers and the Ring of Doom.' And when Sam heard that he laughed aloud for sheer delight, and he stood up and cried : 'O great glory and splendour! And all my wishes have come true!' And then he wept." -(The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King)
Picture of the day:

Just so you know, I'm going to be starting all my posts like this from now on (at least I think...my opinions and decisions about things often times change abruptly). :)

So I apologize very humbly for not posting in a while...but our computer's been down, I've been busy (as usual), our computer's STILL down and I'm writing this from our "temporary" computer (please, please God let it be a temporary computer, I need our old one back!!!), and it feels so weird using a totally unknown computer and I'm a little lost, in a cyber world manner of speaking. The main reason I want our old computer back and working properly is so I can get my unfinished NaNoWriMo novel off. I have absolutely no access to it, and I'm extremely worried about losing it forever. :/ Oh dear oh dear...
Call me the pessimist.
But I feel like I've lost my baby. I have lost my baby, my baby story, only beginning to suck the thumb of completion...

*sigh*

On a brighter note, I'm almost finished with The Return of the King! Wait, no, NOT a brighter note...it's sad, it's very sad that I'm already near the end and I'll have to say good bye to Frodo and company again...and stand with Sam at the edge of the Grey Havens and watch the ship dwindle into the West with the cries of the gulls...why do all good things have to come to an end?

Drat.

Really, though, I've been really enjoying reading The Lord of the Rings again; I've missed it so much! And this was the first time I've really seriously sat down and read it the whole way through, by myself, every single word...usually I just do a quick-read or read my favorite parts. ;) My mom and I used to read that book together a lot. That was actually how I first read it, she reading aloud and me leaning on her shoulder, listening (and reading along sometimes). It's one of my favorite childhood memories, and we still love reading together now.

Speaking of LOTR, I just watched the regular version of The Fellowship in I don't know how long! I've seen the extended version so many times, and haven't seen the regular since I first watched it. It was fun. And it's quite different from the extended...it actually has a few parts that aren't in the extended. But it also goes by MUCH faster, too fast, and cuts out so many good parts that are included in the extended.
So yeah, I'm on a MAJOR Lord of the Rings kick right now, like, even more than usual. :D

By the way, have you all heard that Senator Brown (he is a senator, right?), a Republican, won Senator Kennedy's former seat in Massachusets?? This is great news; it means Obama's health care plan might not win after all! Praise the Lord!!
