Writing and Fantasy
I hope to be published someday. (Don't we all?) I've been reading lots of different kinds of fantasy lately...Cornelia Funke...Brian Jacques...Christopher Paolini...Gail Carson Levine....
Sometimes I wonder if I'm really good enough to be published. I'm so impatient, but I know I still have a long time to get better. Currently, I'm working on two books, and have plans to start two more soon. One will be started in November for NaNoWriMo. :) Wouldn't it be the most beautiful feeling to go to a store and see YOUR BOOK with YOUR NAME on it, there on the shelf?
I know that lots of people --probably most everybody-- wants to be famous...and for that reason some people may laugh at my dream. But I don't want to be famous because I'm a model, or I'm a movie star, or I'm some big sports player, or I'm related to the President (and thank God I'm not!). I want to give something to people. I want to accomplish something in my life. I want the faces of young people to brighten when they hear my name, because a book they dearly love comes to mind...MY book. I want them to have copies of my books in their house, well-worn and falling apart because they have been loved so much. I want them to get so caught up in my story and my characters that to them it's something real...just like it is for me.
Do you ever feel this way?
I'll never be a Tolkien or a Lewis or an Austen...
but who ever wants to be like somebody else? I pray that God will someday allow me, in a unique way, to give the gift of my writing to the world.
After all, He didn't give me that gift of writing for nothing.
Nor the love of fantasy.....

My Peter Pan Personality
I'd like to get organized.
Really, I would.
Like have a specific post for everyday of the week, a specific theme for every week, etc. I'd like to get my room cleaned and pack up every single little thing that's in my room right now so it'll be all ready for when we actually move. I'd like to have the willpower to put down my Redwall book, and actually get my schoolwork done today instead of putting it off for the weekend. But who can resist a good book, a comfy couch, and a warm blanket on a cold, rainy day?
Ah well, someday I'll be organized. Someday I'll be mature. Someday I'll put down my fairy dust dreams and set aside those ethereal tales of fantasy I delight in, and face reality.
Grow up, in a word. (Or two.)
Lord, don't let that day come too soon!
Here's a glimpse of some beautiful fantasy, and proof that I spend way too much time enjoying myself. ;)

I put it together myself...it was lots of fun. Notice that there are pictures from all three Narnia movies? The ones of Lucy in a sailor's (PC's) outfit are from the filming of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. You see, I'm still getting some juicy updates from narniaweb.com. ;) (See a post from a few weeks ago with pictures of the Dawn Treader itself.)
Blessings!

People can say SUCH funny things
So I had no idea what to post, but then the idea came to me to post some of my favorite and random quotes...some are funny and some are thought-inspiring....
Leave your favorite quote in a comment!!! :D
"Quick's the word and sharp's the action, wot, wot?" -Basil Stag Hare
"Never insult the author; she might put you in a book and kill you." -Anonymous
"Can you penetrate the designs of God? Dare you vie with the perfection of the Almighty? It is higher than the heavens; what can you do? It is longer than the earth in measure, and broader than the sea." -unknown
"I have a mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it." -Groucho Marx
"Humor is reason gone mad." -Groucho Marx
"Death but not sin." -St. Dominic Savio
"No wonder You have so few friends, since you treat the ones You have so badly!" -St. Teresa of Avila (upon getting her donkey cart stuck in the mud and unable to get it out no matter how hard she tried)
"Love God, serve God; everything is in that." -St. Clare of Assisi
"I don't sing in the shower; I rap." -Travis "Pronk" Hafner (player on the Indians baseball team in Ohio)
"I like nonsense - it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope... and that enables you to laugh at all of life's realities." -Dr. Suess
"Weddings? I love weddings! Drinks all around!" -Captain Jack Sparrow
"Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger." - Merry Brandybuck
"It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him." -J.R.R. Tolkien
"Ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? Morons." -Vizzini
Cheers!
